I had a wonderful afternoon with four friends at Cocoa Black in Peebles. This is a great 3 hour session, and I would recommend to book in advance. We had such fun making these delicious macaroons, with chocolate ganache and passion fruit and Chantilly cream. I froze a lot to eat another time but had plenty to eat and share through the week. At Cocoa Black you’ll learn how to create a range of beautiful macaroons using the same techniques and equipment as professional pastry chefs. Pastry skills taught on this class include how to: – create French macaroons; – prepare butter cream; – prepare fresh cream fillings; – created whipped ganache; – prepare ganache; and – colour macaroons.
During this pastry class, you’ll prepare three of Ruth’s macaroon recipes. Recipes may vary throughout the year, but will typically include:
– chocolate macaroons;
– flavoured macaroons; and
– macaroons with fresh fruit and cream.

Their ware house where you are taught is behind the bridge in Peebles but their coffee shop is right at the small roundabout at the end of the high street. They sell all sorts of chocolates for eating, cooking and delicious hot chocolate drops. This is coffee shop is fantastic with cakes and all naughty but scrumptious things to eat.
